Kent Austin was asked point blank, matter of fact, straight to the chase whether the Tiger-Cats are pointed in the right direction.

“Two teams made it to the Grey Cup, you tell me?” began Hamilton’s head coach, trying to contain his emotion, doing his best not to disparage the inquisitor.

“Of course we’re pointed in the right direction. Do we need to get better? Absolutely. Are we good enough yet to win a championship? No we’re not, but we’ve certainly made a lot of strides.

“I’m not going to let you rain on our parade. Yes, I think it’s an obvious answer. I don’t want to get upset, but that’s a disservice to those guys in there.”

In the immediate aftermath of Sunday’s loss in the Grey Cup, emotions were running high, as they always are when a team comes within one step of achieving its ultimate goal.
