On the eve of last year’s Grey Cup, Brandon Isaac visualized the game that would soon be played, mentally reviewing his responsibilities in run coverage and his drops in the pass defence.

He needed to watch a movie that would allow Isaac to be in the same mould come game day.

“A violent movie to get me in the mind set of being physical,’’ began Isaac. “I chose Spartacus. I was real big into the rebellion. I was Spartacus trying to take over the Republic.”

On the eve of this year’s Grey Cup, toppling Rider Nation won’t be as easy as the movie script, a force so powerful that many are predicting a beatdown when the CFL’s 101st championship plays out at Mosaic Stadium.

On Saturday, the Ticats did their walkthrough on the same field that will host Sunday’s big game, a very calm, poised, loose atmosphere in the air as blue skies were overhead, a manageable cold and no wind.
