VANCOUVER- The 99th Grey Cup is coming to B.C. Place Stadium in 2011.

B.C. Lions' owner David Braley will confirm Vancouver as host of the Canadian Football League championship at a Friday morning news conference, according to Vancouver radio station CKNW.

It will be the eighth Grey Cup at B.C. Place, but first under the new retractable roof to be installed in 2011 as the final phase of a $365 million renovation.

The 1983 Grey Cup at B.C. Place was the first indoors and featured an 18-17 Toronto Argonauts' win over the Lions. The 2009 Grey Cup is in Calgary, followed by Edmonton in 2010. The last Vancouver-hosted Grey Cup was in 2005 when the Edmonton Eskimos beat the Montreal Alouettes 38-35 in overtime.

A 2011 Grey Cup bid for Vancouver was floated in November on the Sport Market, a sports business program on Team 1040 in Vancouver.
