Stamps, Argos re-cap
By IAN BUSBY, SUN MEDIA
The Stamps got off to a good start with KR Titus Ryan returning the opening kickoff 40 yards to midfield, but were eventually forced to punt.
Later, Jeremaine Copeland made his first catch but then fumbled the ball towards the sidelines. Luckily for the Stamps, Ryan Thelwell was able to hit the loose ball as it was leaving the field. The Stamps settled for a Sandro DeAngelis 17-yard field goal to take a 3-0 lead.
Argos kicker Justin Medlock booted a 43-yard field goal.
Neither team had much going offensively the entire period. Argos RB Andre Durie got a hand on a Burke Dales punt, but the home team couldn't do anything with decent field position as Stamps DL Tom Johnson sacked QB Cody Pickett.
Stamps DB Brandon Browner buckled his knee and left the game.
The Argos took possession but the Stamps made the game's first big play.
Stamps LB Shannon James came free on the backside and drilled QB Cody Pickett, knocking the ball loose. Odell Willis recovered and the Stamps took the ball at the 39-yard line.
Argos DL Kevin Huntley was called for a roughing-the-passer penalty to put the Stamps in the red zone, but LB Zeke Moreno picked off a Henry Burris pass at the five-yard line to snuff out the scoring chance.
The Stamps forced a punt at midfield, but KR Titus Ryan fumbled the return and the Argos recovered at the Calgary 15-yard line.
Pickett hit P.K. Sam on a 11-yard touchdown pass at 8:44 to give the Argos their first lead of the game, 10-3.
Henry Burris led the team down the field on a six-play, 71-yard drive and capped it off with a 16-yard touchdown pass to Jeremaine Copeland, his third major in two games.
Pickett started getting on track himself, hooking up with Sam for a 33-yard gain.
On the opening play, Justin Medlock hit a 20-yard field goal as the home team took a 13-10 lead.
Stamps QB Henry Burris responded quickly, using seven plays to get into field goal range as Sandro DeAngelis hit on a 35-yarder to tie the game 13-13.
DeAngelis kicked a 42-yard field goal to give the Stamps a 16-13 lead with six minutes left.
Pickett hit P.K. Sam for a 19-yard TD pass and the Argos had a 20-16 lead.
Burris went to Lewis over the middle and the slotback rumbled for 52 yards to reach the Argos 32-yard line. Stamps RB Joffrey Reynolds fumbled as Argos DL Ronald Flemons knocked the ball loose.
After forcing a two-and-out, the Stamps got the ball back at midfield and drove down for Copeland's second touchdown, which turned out to be the winner.
1. Stamps SB Jeremaine Copeland -- Game-winning touchdown, his eighth of the season.
2. Argos SB P.K. Sam -- Two touchdowns in his season debut, plus set up a field goal with a 33-yard reception.
3. Stamps SB Nik Lewis -- Blew up Zeke Moreno with block of the season and had 118 yards receiving.
SPECIAL TEAMS: C
With the Argos up four, K Justin Medlock came up with a weak punt to give the Stamps the ball at midfield, and they drove down for the winning touchdown in the final minute .
WHY THE STAMPS WON
Their defence fought through the adversity of losing DB Brandon Browner and LB Tristan Black to injury and the offence finally got going in the second half.

Former Stampeders DE Tearrius George, who played with the team in 2007 and had eight sacks, signed with the Dallas Cowboys after getting waived last week by the Miami Dolphins. George would have been a CFL free agent had he not received another NFL job, and the Stamps were interested in his services ... Stamps QB Henry Burris passed Doug Flutie for most completions in team history ... DB John Eubanks, DT DeVone Claybrooks and LB Tim Johnson made their season debuts in starting positions. Johnson became the first player in the history of the franchise to wear the single zero as his number.
