Twice in the last two years, the Edmonton Eskimos have faced the Toronto Argonauts at Commonwealth Stadium.
And both times, Eskimos quarterback Mike Reilly ended up getting knocked out of the game due to injury.
Last year, it was with concussion-like symptoms after taking an illegal hit from Argos defensive tackle and Edmontonian Cleyon Laing, who ended up with a fine from the league.
On his first snap Saturday afternoon, Reilly was sacked by a gang of Argos defenders, with the thumb on his throwing hand somehow taking the brunt of the beating.
“I'm not really sure what happened,” Reilly said. “It was on the first play and I didn't throw the ball on that play, I was just at the bottom of the pile and I don't know if it got stepped on or if it got hit at the bottom with a helmet or what.
