It was a pretty relaxed and upbeat practice for the 7-1 Edmonton Eskimos Monday as they began preparations for the Labour Day Classic in Calgary.

Nothing like a three-game win streak to get the confidence up heading into a showdown with your provincial rival.

What? The Eskimos are only 4-1, you say? And the Labour Day game isn’t until September, three games from now?

Duh. You’re right.

But you might want to check the schedule. Or the standings.

While they don’t actually come out and say Edmonton’s next three games are Guaranteed Win Nights, they will tell you that the Eskimos have as many victories as all three of those opponents combined.

The Bums of August begins with the 1-4 Montreal Alouettes, who are in full circus mode, having recently added Jeff Garcia and Don Matthews to the big top.
