EDMONTON - He's had to wait to get his money, but the winner of last week's record-setting Eskimos game 50-50 draw is glad he did.

"We waited about an hour in the line. We went down half-way through the first and waited all the way until half-time. Quite the wait but well worth it," said a soft-spoken Connor Croken, 20, who came to Commonwealth Stadium Tuesday morning to officially receive his cheque.

The throngs of hopeful winners at the game helped grow the pot to a total of $348,534, eclipsing the previous record of just under $128,000.

"This is the big one," said Len Rose, president of the Eskimos before handing him his cheque and congratulating Croken and his family.
