There are three reasons why I could see closing a CFL practice to fans.

And none of them are worthy:

Number 1: You don’t trust your fans in attendance not to let the opposing team know what they’re seeing — even if they don’t fully understand it — by posting comments on Twitter or other social media;

Number 2: You don’t trust the opposition and think they’re cheating by sending someone to spy on your practice; or,

Number 3: You are untrustworthy yourself, and don’t want anyone to see you doing something in practice that contravenes league rules.

Either way, a harsh assumption is being made about someone. And on Monday, it started with those Edmonton Eskimos fans asked to leave Commonwealth Stadium during a two-hour morning practice.
