EDMONTON - Ever since he signed on to quarterback the Edmonton Eskimos, Mike Reilly has shown to be somewhat of a perfectionist.
After his Week 1 outing, Reilly was true to form.
Reilly put up some more-than-passable numbers in the Eskimos win over B.C. on Saturday.
He completed 22 of 35 pass attempts, threw three TD passes with only one interception and, more importantly, helped the team get off on the right foot with a win.
“It felt good to get out there and get a road victory to start the season off right,” said Reilly. “A win in B.C. is a good way to start the season. It feels good to get the season off to a good start and get our fans excited. You’re not going to win the season after Week 1.”
If the first-week results across the CFL have shown anything, the West Division could be unbelievably competitive.
In the spirit of soccer’s World Cup, the Eskimos currently rank No. 4 in the CFL West with a points differential of plus-seven.
