EDMONTON - Jonathan Himebauch got his first taste of the spotlight that has been shining on the not-so-bright Edmonton Eskimos offensive line.
OK, it’s more like a pressure cooker or a heat lamp.
But the team’s new offensive line coach and run-game co-ordinator — the two main areas that provided constant concern on the way to a 4-14 finish last season — was cool as a cucumber made in the shade during an introductory press conference Friday afternoon.
Heck, the former offensive line coach for the Calgary Stampeders and Montreal Alouettes even cracked a joke when asked what he thought about quarterback Mike Reilly packing on 25 pounds in efforts to become more durable.
“Oh, I thought you were going to say we’re in the same position because I’ve put on 25 pounds … I’m trying to work on that,” said a grinning Himebauch.
