Instead of diving into free agency Tuesday, the Edmonton Eskimos dipped a toe in. After losing out — along with the rest of the league — on top target Josh Bourke when the offensive lineman elected to remain with the Montreal Alouettes, the Eskimos beefed up their Canadian content along their own O-line by signing (surprise, surprise!) a former Toronto Argonaut. Eskimos new head coach Chris Jones has been reunited with Andrew Jones (no relation), with the signing of the six-foot-four, 320-pound McMaster University product. The two worked together for the past two years in Toronto, where Chris was the defensive co-ordinator.
