EDMONTON - Edmonton Eskimos head coach Chris Jones saw his old position as defensive co-ordinator with the Toronto Argonauts get filled by former Winnipeg Blue Bombers head coach Tim Burke on Thursday.

But Jones’s mind was likely more on who his own defensive co-ordinator will be, as Eskimos fans anxiously await announcements on his coaching staff.

While the Sun reported a handful of names under serious consideration for various special-teams and offensive gigs earlier this week (Craig Dickenson, Stephen McAdoo and Jason Tucker chief among them), a couple of defensive candidates have since leaked out of what has been a tightly sealed Commonwealth Stadium since Jones’s hiring.

Calgary Stampeders defensive line coach DeVone Claybrooks and Toronto Argonauts defensive assistant Jason Shivers are among the names of defensive coaches currently being looked at by the Eskimos.
