There is only one chief achievement missing from Fred Stamps’s impressive CFL resume.

But the Edmonton Eskimos slotback will have to wait until 2014 for his next chance to add a Grey Cup to his list of career accomplishments.

While the Eskimos have sputtered to a 3-12 record to see an early exit from post-season contention, Stamps has been on the top of his game all season long.

“It’s tough that we’re done with the Grey Cup picture, but the main thing is we’ve just got to keep fighting,” Stamps said. “Just keep playing and take this and build, get ready for next year.

The seventh-year slotback and perennial CFL all-star has already recorded his fifth-straight 1,000-yard receiving season, currently leading the league in three major categories: 1,127 receiving yards, 18.5 yards per catch and a career-high 11 touchdown receptions.
