The only thing Mike Reilly would love as much as finally winning in front of the home crowd at Commonwealth Stadium is shutting up the fans in the stands who aren’t cheering for the Edmonton Eskimos.

And with a CFL season-high crowd of more than 41,000 expected, there will be plenty of Saskatchewan Roughriders supporters when the Eskimos fight for their first home victory of the season on Saturday.

“There’s a million reasons for us to be ready and be up for this game, but certainly because it’s Saskatchewan and them being the best team in the league, record-wise, and just the nature of their fans,” said Reilly, who is 2-6 as a starting quarterback going back to last year with the B.C. Lions. “If you’re playing for Saskatchewan, I’m sure it’s great to have those fans.

“But the time I was in B.C. and the time I’ve been here in Edmonton, you just love to hate those fans, and they love to hate you.”
