MONTREAL - After being released by the Edmonton Eskimos on Monday, veteran punter Burke Dales resurfaced in Montreal for a workout with the Alouettes following their pre-game day walk-through.

The Alouettes trotted Dales out not only in front of current kicker Sean Whyte as he was leaving the practice field, but also in front of media during a scrum with head coach Dan Hawkins.

“All I can say is the workout went well,” said Dales, a Concordia product who already has a place in Montreal. “I am under strict orders from my agent right now. I’ve got no comment on anything right now until I figure things out.”

That includes commenting on his former team, whom he played nine games with in 2012 before suffering an injury on his planting foot that saw him sit out the last half of the season on the nine-game injured list.

Dales has yet to play a game in 2013.
