EDMONTON - The quarterback competition for the Edmonton Eskimos starting job got underway on Day 1 of training cap at Commonwealth Stadium on Sunday.

And, as expected, both Matt Nichols and Mike Reilly are neck and neck out of the gates.

“They started five-for-five. Matt started our skelly and he was five-for-five,” head coach Kavis Reed said of the drill that pits the receivers against the defensive backs. “Mike came after and he was five-for-five.”
