EDMONTON - It was out with the old, out with the new for the Edmonton Eskimos on Friday — and with it, they bid farewell to the last player on their roster to have won a Grey Cup wearing the Green and Gold.

Less than five hours after announcing kicker Brody McKnight was traded to the Saskatchewan Roughriders for draft picks, the Eskimos made public the release of nine-year CFL veteran Mathieu Bertrand.

The non-import fullback and native of Chambley, Que., played his entire career with the Eskimos up to this point, after being taken 44th overall in the 2003 CFL draft by the Montreal Alouettes.

What do you think of the name 'RedBlacks' for the new Ottawa CFL franchise?
  It's awful
  Guess it works
Meh, I don't follow the CFL
  Best name yet
