Eskimos release Boyd and Prude

The Edmonton Eskimos released running back Cory Boyd and defensive back Ronnie Prude on Thursday.

Boyd, who was signed in August following his release from the Toronto Argonauts, appeared in four games for the Eskimos, picking up 76 yards on 18 carries. Boyd led the league in rushing with 447 yards on 80 carries before his release from the Argos.

Prude spent the first three weeks on the one-game injured list before missing five additional games later in the season (Weeks 7-9, 12-13). Over five games this season, Prude had 12 defensive tackles, one interception and one pass- knockdown.
