He may be the master of the pre-game speech, but Kavis Reed said he doesn’t have any words of wisdom planned for Sunday.
The Edmonton Eskimos head coach is going to send his players down the playoff tunnel at Commonwealth Stadium the same way he has all season long: speaking from the heart without any pre-planned phrases.
But in the end, it will be up to them, as Reed is a firm believer in the old adage: actions always speak louder than words.
“Football is such an emotional thing and those kinds of things only get the guys through the locker-room doors,” Reed said. “Once they step out onto that football field, it’s all about execution.
“For me, I’m very passionate about the game and very emotional before the game, but once the ball gets kicked off it’s all about concentration and focus.
“The playoffs are the playoffs, if I’m excited I’m excited.”
