Esks' WIlliams to sit out
By GERRY MODDEJONGE, QMI Agency

EDMONTON - He leads the CFL with four interceptions, but Rod Williams won’t get a chance to add to that tally this week.

The Edmonton Eskimos cornerback is sitting out Friday’s game against the B.C. Lions after missing most of this week’s practices with a tight hamstring.

“Wednesday morning when we tested him, we didn’t feel he was at the level of strength and would jeopardize him moving forward,” Reed said.

COME AND GONE: Since Aug. 1, the Eskimos have brought in seven players and released eight players: DE Marcus Howard, WR Jason Armstead, WR Dobson Collins, WR Prechae Rodriguez, WR Ryan Grice-Mullen, OL Devin Tyler and OL Chris Patrick were brought in, while WR Ray Fisher, RB Arkee Whitlock, WR Reggie McNeal, DE Almondo Sewell, LB Rico McCoy, DB Brian Logan, WR Brandon James and OL Cliff Washburn were released.

IN AND OUT: WR Marcus Henry (concussion) did not practise and isn’t expected to play this weekend, while WR Adarius Bowman (ribs) is not expected to be back until the Labour Day Classic.

What do you think of the name 'RedBlacks' for the new Ottawa CFL franchise?
  It's awful
  Guess it works
