Eskimos sign Donovan Alexander

Winnipeg cornerback Donovan Alexander has found a new home.

The 25-year-old, who was released by the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Tuesday, signed with the Edmonton Eskimos on Wednesday.

The St. Paul’s Crusaders star appeared in 15 games for the Roughriders last season, making four starts and recording 14 tackles.

In other CFL news, former Winnipeg Blue Bomber offensive lineman Rob Lazeo retired from the Calgary Stampeders after 14 CFL seasons, while B.C. Lions cornerback Davis Sanchez signed a three-year contract extension.

Finally, the Roughriders extended the contract of the defensive back Lance Frazier, who was eligible to become a free agent later this month.
