More new faces to come for Esks

If the Edmonton Eskimos intend to make any more moves involving their coaching staff, and it’s expected that they will, they’ll wait until after the Labour Day Rematch.

But despite the short week, changes to the lineup will be more immediate.

“There will be new players in the lineup Friday,” said president and CEO Rick LeLacheur Tuesday.

“More than Kelly Bates who we announced this (Tuesday) afternoon,” added the executive after returning for a full day of meetings following the Eskimos’ 52-5 Labour Day loss in Calgary.

“The NFL cuts are starting to surface,” he said.

Meanwhile LeLacheur says the search for a general manager continues.

“I’ve talked to a ton of guys in Canada and the U.S.,” he said.

“We’re out there trying to find the best football guys available. We put a lot of oars in the water
