The Edmonton Eskimos are in the Hunt for another Grey Cup.
Although he's only played in four games since joining the team in Week 14, Eskimos linebacker Reggie Hunt is a bit of a lucky charm.
The eight-year CFL veteran has been on teams that have made it to the championship final the last two years in a row.
And he is looking to do it again this year.
"I hope so," said the five-foot-11, 220-pounder who signed with Edmonton in late September after being released by the Montreal Alouettes. "I guess it's being at the right place at the right time."
Last season, Hunt started in both the East final and the Grey Cup, recording seven defensive tackles on the way to a loss to the Calgary Stampeders in the championship.
The season before, Hunt helped the Saskatchewan Roughriders win the Grey Cup.
"I like to think that I've helped my team get to the Grey Cup at that point," Hunt said. "It would be great to get there this year too."
He notices some similarities between his two former teams and this year's Eskimos squad.
"I don't think it's any secret anymore, the teams that make it to the Grey Cup are the teams that jell together the best at the end of the season," said Hunt, who was a healthy scratch the last two weeks and isn't expected to dress for tomorrow's game. "You want to get that fast start and solidify a playoff spot but the most important thing from what I know is peaking at the right time and it seems like this team is doing that.
"That's what it's going to take to win. You can get all those victories, but the season starts completely over in the playoffs. The best team is going to win."
