The new guy in town noticed a chill in the air.
"Right now, it feels a little chilly," said wide receiver/kick returner Jamaica Rector, whose dreadlocks rival that of injured Fred Stamps.
After spending his first couple of years with the Dallas Cowboys, Rector was released by the Arizona Cardinals a month ago. He appeared in one game for Dallas and two for Arizona.
"Every time you get released, it's a disappointment," said Rector. "Hopefully, you don't get released too many times. It's something you deal with and it's part of the game."
Rector describes himself as a "speedy, quick, fast," and explosive receiver. He signed a practice roster contract with the Eskimos. After being warned that it gets much colder here than it is now, Rector seemed less than concerned.
"It gets pretty cold in Missouri," said the five-foot-10, 183-pound receiver.
Ain't seen nothin' yet. Just wait a few weeks.
