The Edmonton Eskimos could have one of their top offensive weapons back on the field this weekend.
Receiver T.J. Acree has returned to practice, shedding the walking cast from his injured left foot. Although he suffered a stress fracture on that foot earlier this year, he looked like the Acree of old on the practice field yesterday.
"It felt all right today," said Acree after practice.
"It started hurting a little bit but I think if I take a little more Tylenol it will be all right."
If Acree can practise today, he'll likely be on the roster Saturday. Acree is the fourth-leading receiver on the club even though he missed last week. If he plays against the Stampeders, Fred Stamps will likely sit.
SHORT HIT ...
Dan Comiskey was hoping to return to the offensive line this week, but he still can't push off using his left leg.
The veteran guard suffered a torn left calf muscle against Winnipeg last month. There is no timetable for his return at the moment.
