Sean Fleming hurled a kicking tee across a portion of the Eskimos's practice field this week in pure frustration.
In fact, Edmonton head coach Danny Maciocia tried to settle down his kicker later in that not-so-great practice.
But when it mattered most under the bright lights at Commonwealth Stadium last night, Fleming nailed a 47-yard field goal to win the game with 2:07 remaining.
"I was very confident," said Fleming on his approach to the kick.
"I feel a lot more confident with (Stefan) LeFors now holding. Early on in the season we weren't as consistent a group as we needed to be.
"We worked really hard this week in practice.
"He had a great hold on the short 29-yarder (in the third quarter). It was in the ground and he got it up."
It turns out that particular practice helped spur on Fleming.
"Sometimes you have got to motivate yourself," he said.
"I had a good long chat with LeFors about what we needed to do as a group - and he had a great game for me today."
