Frustration setting in for Ranek

Josh Ranek can't even put in words how frustrated he is.

Stuck on the sidelines since last Thursday with a hamstring injury, the veteran CFL running back can only watch Ron McClendon scamper across the field as the No. 1 tailback in camp.

"When it happened it wasn't a pop or anything. We didn't think it was real serious to begin with," said Ranek on the injury.

"For some reason it is just not healing as fast as we would like."

In a best case scenario, Ranek is hoping to be back on the field on Sunday - but that would only give him three practice days before the final pre-season game.

Trying to unseat McClendon is going to be a very tough job.

Recovered from a torn MCL in Hamilton last year, Ranek believes his body was completely ready for camp.

"I had a great off-season of training," he added.

"I came out early every day to get myself warm before we started doing a walk-through and I think I did everything I possibly could do to prevent it."
