Hiring Krushell was 'no-brainer'

With credentials that practically leap off his resume pages, the Eskimos couldn't turn away from Jeff Krushell.

After five years inside the Toronto Blue Jays organization, the Green and Gold have hired Krushell as their new strength and conditioning co-ordinator.

"It was a no-brainer," said head athletic therapist T.D. Forss. "When we did research (for the position)... the first name people chose was Jeff."

From 1998-2003, Krushell held a similar role with the Jays and their organization.

But the former University of Calgary grad left to form his own company - Krush Sport Performance - and host his own radio show on the TEAM 1260.

As part of the negotiations with the Eskimos, Krushell will not be paid a full-time salary, but will be able to retain his freelance contracts - including being a consultant to Major League Baseball International.

Given the money Krushell commanded with the Jays, it's an understandable move.

"If we had to pay him full time," said Forss, "we would have to restructure things."
