The best of the lot

Here's the Sun's take on the five players the Esks should pursue, assuming they don't sign with their current team before Feb. 15.

1. OMARR MORGAN (CB - SK): A three-time CFL all-star, he would be a perfect replacement for Malcolm Frank. And Morgan thinks highly of Danny Maciocia.

2. STANFORD SAMUELS (CB - WP): A good option IF Morgan doesn't arrive. The only drawback is a potential NFL deal, as Minnesota has shown interest.

3. DAVIN BUSH (HB - SK): There are major questions surrounding the future of halfbacks Shannon Garrett (34-years-old) and Donald Brady (33). Bush led the Riders with five interceptions last year.

4. ANTHONY MALBROUGH (HB - WP): At 30, Malbrough is still younger than the current Edmonton halfbacks and is arguably Winnipeg's top defender.

5. NAUTYN MCKAY-LOESCHER (DE - B.C.): This is a longshot because he wants to play in the East.

FINISH LINES: While the Esks won't have interest in Casey Printers when he becomes a free agent - if he's released by the Kansas City Chiefs - the Argos and Bombers will surely jump.
