The Edmonton Eskimos didn't pull the trigger at the trade deadline.
At 4-8 in the West Division basement, the Green and Gold still have the same roster today after deciding not to make a move before last night's CFL cutoff of 9:59 p.m.
"You can got out there and make a deal but I don't know if it is actually going to help you," said Danny Maciocia yesterday afternoon before the deadline arrived.
"People don't want to give up much and want a whole lot in return.
"We are not going to do that just to make a deal."
Maciocia specifically referred to his refusal to deal young, key building blocks like Joe McGrath and Adam Braidwood.
Those two players would have surely brought Edmonton some key veterans for the stretch drive, but would have cost the club in the future.
FINISH LINES: Edmonton continues to play a waiting game with two import players from NFL camps, who are still hoping to find a new home in the NFL after Week 3.
Maciocia refused to reveal names, but one player is likely offensive lineman Steve Morley.
