TOP OFFENSIVE PLAYER

There were lots of candidates on the Winnipeg side of the ball but give this to Kevin Glenn. The oft-maligned quarterback engineered four touchdown drives against the reigning Grey Cup champs.

TOP DEFENSIVE PLAYER

Blue Bombers middle linebacker Barrin Simpson was simply all over the field. He made eight defensive tackles and one special teams tackle and continues to be a leader. Topspecial teamPlayer

Winnipeg returner Albert Johnson III returned one kickoff 42 yards and a punt 31 yards. He also showed the importance of catching punts in the air, often drawing no yards penalties.

SMACK OF THE GAME

Bomber cornerback Omar Evans laid the lumber on Edmonton wide receiver Ed Hervey just after he caught a short pass on the sidelines.

KEY PLAY

Bombers were leading 29-10 early in the third quarter but Edmonton was threatening with second-and-goal at the Winnipeg one. Edmonton quarterback Ricky Ray fumbled the snap and the ball was recovered by Bomber safety Ron Ockimey at the Winnipeg three. The Eskies never came close to scoring a TD again.

HIGHLIGHT REEL

On second-and-10 from his own 31, Winnipeg quarterback Kevin Glenn read the blitz coming and let fly with a long bomb to wide receiver Chris Brazzell. And 79 yards later, the Bombers had a 19-10 lead.
