Hits and misses

JONATHAN HUNTINGTON -- Edmonton Sun

, Last Updated: 7:38 AM ET

THE HITS

MOOKIE MITCHELL (SB): In a great matchup, Mitchell schooled safety Kelly Wiltshire on a beautiful touchdown pattern.

JONTE BUHL (DB): The rookie scored the interception of the day, stepping right in front of a Steven Jyles' rocket throw. In a real game, Buhl would have been untouched on the way to pay dirt.

AND MISSES

DONALD BRADY (DB): Clearly beaten by Jason Tucker on one particular pattern, Brady walked over to the outside fence - likely in frustration.

RICKY RAY (QB): There's no need to panic in Eskimoland, but Ray has yet to look razor sharp. He should have been picked by James Whitely yesterday and badly misfired on another throw.

THE CUTS

Chris Cole's mouth rarely stopped moving in Edmonton - and that's likely a significant reason why he has been cut. Even before he arrived in Eskimo camp the former NFLer declared he had "all the talent in the world." But the receiver was rarely a bright spot during his nine days at camp ... WR Romar Crenshaw and DB David Young have also been cut. There are still 73 players fighting for 42 roster spots.

HURT PARADE

DB Malcolm Frank (hip pointer), LB Steve Marsh (leg), DB Jason Nugent (knee), FB Mathieu Bertrand (groin), DB William Loftus (shoulder), KR/SB Tony Tompkins (calf), RB Nicolas Bisaillon (leg), FB Deitan Dubuc (leg), SB Pat Woodcock (hamstring), DE Antico Dalton (ankle), DL Randy Spencer (calf), OL Patrick Kabongo (knee)

Practice: 9-11 a.m.
