Danny Maciocia keeps waiting - but Jason Johnson can't seem to deliver.
The first week of training camp is almost in the books, but Johnson still hasn't been able to find his 'A' game in the battle for the backup quarterback job.
The third-year Eskimo pivot missed open receivers again yesterday and his most noticeable throw was an awful-looking wobbling floater that missed the mark by several yards.
"Jason is all over the place," said Maciocia after practice.
"He needs to get going and hopefully in the next few days he gets it going."
Johnson came into training camp with the inside track to be Ricky Ray's backup.
But raw rookie Steven Jyles has looked sharper and veteran Khari Jones seems to be improving.
But the bad reviews and public urging from his coach doesn't seem to have rattled the personable pivot.
"It is still early in camp. Obviously I feel like I can play a lot better than I have been playing but at the same time that will all come in time," he said.
"My biggest goal is to just relax and play."
