FIRST DOWN

Import defensive lineman Ja'Waren Blair drew the ire of lineman Sandy Annunziata for decking a quarterback during Monday's session. The hulking Blair was apologetic yesterday. "In all my career of playing football, I do it at least once every camp," offered a contrite Blair, who pens poetry in his spare time. "It wasn't intentional. I was just running to the ball trying to finish. I had a guy on my back and I tried to avoid (the QB) but made a little contact." ... Noted for his love of jewelry and gold front teeth, RB Ron McLendon grabbed the microphone attached to a TV camera and did his best imitation of a sports reporter following yesterday's workout. "Get some jewelry cleaner and a toothbrush," chided WR Ed Hervey as he strolled past McLendon, whose nickname is Goldie.

SECOND DOWN

The fate of departed punter Anthony Posteraro's lime-green day-glo shoes is unclear according to import hoofer Chris Brewer. Posteraro made a splash by showing up shod in the now-infamous shoes, but took a lot of razzing from the veterans and later swapped his garish green boots for the more conventional black cleats. "I'm not sure who has the shoes," said Brewer, who is battling veteran Sean Fleming for the starting kicking job. "I looked into his locker to see of they were still there. He'd either already got rid of them or else a veteran had already gotten rid of them for him. I'm not sure who has the shoes."

PARING DOWN

No roster moves. There are a total of 67 players in camp.
