TOMORROW:

9 to 11 a.m. at Concordia University College

FIRST DOWN

DL Steve Charbonneau (knee) and Clinton Wayne (knee), FB Mike Maurer (bruised sternum), and WRs Scott Robinson (quad) and Ed Hervey (knee) sat out yesterday's single session. Charbonneau, Maurer and Hervey are likely scratches for Friday's pre-season matchup versus Winnipeg. "We've got a few guys that are beat up but at the same time we have to evaluate some of the guys that are beat up," said head coach Danny Maciocia. "We've got to get down to (50) a couple of days after the game. If they're not ready to play, it's going to make it a little tough on the coaches" ... Should rain or inclement weather force the Esks indoors, the squad plans to move its workouts to the Grant MacEwan Centre for Wellness and Sport downtown.

SECOND DOWN

With one workout a day, QB Jason Maas is throwing in the neighbourhood of 70 passes a day. Maas says the increase from 60 to 70 tosses is allowing him to compete on a more level playing field with Ricky Ray, Khari Jones and Jason Johnson. "I'm able to get through these practices pretty easily," offered Maas, who underwent off-season surgery to repair a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder. "I knew it would come to the point where I'd be able to get though a whole practice. I just need reps now more than anything and I need to catch up in that respect." Right now, it appears Maas won't see any action in the first pre-season game against Winnipeg ... With K Anthony Posteraro gone, SB Robert Leblanc and OL Tim O'Neill are the only remaining draft picks in camp.

PARING DOWN

No roster moves. There are a total of 67 players in camp.
