CALGARY - Four years ago, Marquay McDaniel caught a career-high 76 balls for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
Less than a year later, he was handed his walking papers and was out on the street without a job.
It didn’t take long for McDaniel to land on his feet with the Calgary Stampeders, and he’s been back to Hamilton before — but not like this.
Now, the product of Virginia Beach, Va., returns to the place where his career began fresh off the first 1,000-yard season of his career and with the label of go-to guy on one of the most-dangerous offences — when all of the key components are healthy, anyway — in the CFL.
“I mean … it’s cool to go back to a city I played at for a couple years,” said McDaniel, recalling his stint with the Tabbies from 2009-11. “I love the city and love the fans, and we had training camp at McMaster (University), so (playing Saturday) at McMaster bring back memories.
