CALGARY - Nik Lewis is putting his downtime to good use.

Left off the Calgary Stampeders' 46-man roster last week due to ratio issues, the 32-year-old veteran slotback is once again expected to be on the outside looking in for Week 7 when the Ottawa RedBlacks (1-4) come to town Saturday (5:30 p.m., TSN, News Talk 770).

With his ankle and his conditioning still lagging behind his will and confidence, Lewis made the decision to go back to vigorously rehabbing the left leg that was broken last August.

From blood cell flushes to spin classes to undergoing the Graston Technique a couple times a week, Lewis is hoping to expedite not only his return to the field but his return to prominence within the Stampeders offence.
