Shawn Lemon insists he got the sack.

Charleston Hughes says it was all his.

The Calgary Stampeders two defensive ends crushed Edmonton Eskimos quarterback Mike Reilly almost simultaneously in Thursday’s 26-22 CFL road victory.

“Most importantly, we got the win. You have to be a team guy first,” Lemon said.

“But I felt like I was there first. A lot of my teammates feel I was there first. A couple coaches feel I was there first.

“The Charleston Hughes effect has big play around here.”

Hughes, who got credit for the takedown, says No. 39 comes before No. 40.

“Actually, Lemon did a great pass-rush move on that,” Hughes said. “It was an awesome pass-rush move.

“He just didn’t get there first.

“You can have all the support you want. He can have the whole stadium in support of him. But when you cut that film and you actually watch the play, then you know what happened.”
