The Jon Cornish concussion watch was supposed to end Tuesday morning.

It did not.

The Calgary Stampeders star running back was expected to be on the field practising with his teammates during the first day of preparation for Friday’s clash with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (8 p.m., TSN, News Talk 770), but more time was needed.

There were no setbacks — the staff and Cornish are simply erring on the side of caution.

“He’ll be on the practice field (Wednesday) — he wanted one more day before he got back on the field,” Stamps GM/head coach John Hufnagel relayed to the media Tuesday afternoon.

“He just wanted to take an extra day. Precautionary, if anything.”
