CALGARY - Well, what can Jon Cornish possibly do for an encore?

Statistically, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to improve on his body of work.

That’s what happens when you churn out 1,813 yards — the fourth-highest single-season total in CFL history — despite sitting out one game with a thigh injury.

Maybe the Calgary Stampeders star running back gives Willie Burden’s franchise record (1,896 yards in 1975) another serious challenge.

Maybe he threatens magical 2,000-yard mark, which has only been done once (Mike Pringle’s 2,065 in ’98).

If Cornish’s last two seasons are any indication, any and all records are in danger.

But while media and fans might wonder just how high the 29-year-old can fly, Cornish won’t be measuring his success with stats.

“I don’t like talking in numbers,” Cornish said.
