With or without a new CBA, it’s business as usual for the Calgary Stampeders.

While negotiations between the league and CFLPA were going on late into the night Wednesday in Toronto, the Stamps were busy prepping the rookies in advance of rookie camp opening up Thursday with two on-field sessions (10 a.m. and 4 p.m.) at McMahon Stadium.

“We (had) meetings Wednesday and then we’ll have two days of practice for the rookies,” Stamps GM/head coach John Hufnagel said, noting the team has to move forward as if a new CBA will be reached in time. “The veterans will be reporting Saturday night and I expect them to be in that meeting room.”

The current CBA expires Thursday, and if a new deal is reached in time, CFL training camps are set to open across the country Sunday.
