The quarterbacks put pen to paper.

And now the majority of the receiving corps has, too.

The Calgary Stampeders extended wideout Joe West’s contract Friday, bringing to an end a hectic business week for the football club, which saw GM/head coach John Hufnagel also extend signal-callers Drew Tate and Bo Levi Mitchell, as well as receiver Jeff Fuller, on the offensive side of the ball.

West battled through a shoulder injury in 2013 — he suffered a separated shoulder in Week 4, which forced him to miss over two months of action, and then re-aggravated it in his first game back in October and missed an additional six weeks — but when the University of El Paso-Texas product was on the field, his number was called often.

It makes sense that health is his top goal heading into the ’14 CFL season.
