Rob Cote wasn't going anywhere.

The Calgary Stampeders fullback was eligible to test the free-agent waters in a month but that was never part of his plan.

"This is home," the Cochrane product said after inking a new deal with the Red & White Wednesday.

"This has been my team for much longer than I've been playing for them.

"So I'm very happy to be back and to make another run."

The 27-year-old, who is busy planning his upcoming wedding, has been with the Stamps since first signing as a free agent in 2007.

He said the thought of pulling on any other CFL jersey just didn't sit right with him.

"I really do believe this team is one of the classier organizations in the league," Cote said. "And it's one of the best cities in the country.

"Then you add in your family and friends, and it's very difficult to walk away from."
