CALGARY - Despite the possibility of entertaining offers to be a head coach elsewhere, Dave Dickenson is staying on with the Calgary Stampeders.

He will make it official Thursday morning at a press conference slated for 10 a.m. at McMahon Stadium where he will add the title of associate coach to his offensive co-ordinator duties.

Dickenson was unavailable for comment Wednesday as he was en route from California where he was vacationing with his wife and two young kids.

As has long been his practice, he just couldn’t stand to watch the Grey Cup game without his team being in it, so he bolted for the coast following the Stampeders implosion in the West final against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Prior to leaving, he sat down with Stamps GM/head coach John Hufnagel to discuss his future with the club — a future that undoubtedly includes him becoming the next head coach.
