The Calgary Stampeders will need to go back to work this weekend.

That suits middle linebacker Juwan Simpson just fine.

He wasn’t planning to take next Saturday off, anyways.

“We’ve got something to play for every week, man,” Simpson said. “End of story.”

When the Saskatchewan Roughriders kept pace with the Stamps with a 35-14 victory over the B.C. Lions Saturday night, it set up a key first-place showdown at McMahon Stadium next weekend.

Regardless of how much the game means in the standings, there was little chance of it becoming a ho-hum affair.

“It’s the Riders,” Simpson said. “(Whether the Riders) win, lose or draw, we’ll be amped up for that game.

“We feel some type of way about those guys. They feel some type of way about us.

“It’s always a great game and I expect nothing less regardless of what happens (Saturday) night.”
