CALGARY - Marquay has become The Man.
He used to be one of the best-kept secrets in the CFL.
But Marquay McDaniel now finds himself with a bulls-eye on his back.
The Calgary Stampeders slotback has been the club's most consistent receiver from Day 1.
Stamps receivers coach Pete Costanza said no one seems to talk about McDaniel, including the man himself.
"He leads by example," Costanza said. "He's not a big talking guy.
"I always tell him he's Steady Eddie. He does the right thing all the time. He plugs away and plugs away and has a good game.
"I'd expect him to do the same this week."
The 29-year-old hopes to let his play do the talking once again in Monday's Labour Day Classic against the Edmonton Eskimos (3 p.m. at McMahon Stadium, TSN/News Talk 770).
And he's fine if people think he's flying under the radar.
