Jonathan Williams wore No. 9 in Wednesday’s practice.

If only replacing Jon Cornish was that easy.

The Calgary Stampeders star running back sat out both workouts this week and said he is questionable for Friday’s tilt with the Toronto Argonauts (5:30 p.m., TSN/News Talk 770) due to a thigh contusion.

“I don’t really know my status at this point,” Cornish said. “I wanted to be feeling a little bit better.”

Cornish refused to say whether his chances of starting were better than 50-50.

“Yeah, I have some questions,” Cornish said when asked if he’s questionable.

“If I can’t go, I’m going to try to get straight. If I can go, then I’m going to try to dominate.

“I don’t want to do any numbers. I wake up in the morning and ask myself ‘can I go?’ ”
