Rene Paredes made CFL history tonight.

The Calgary Stampeders kicker made field-goals of 37 and 19 yards to tie and then overtake Paul McCallum in the record books.

Paredes now holds the mark for the man with the most consecutive field-goals made. The one hit from 19 yards out at Investors Group Field in Winnipeg over the host Blue Bombers gave the Stampeders kicker 31 straight field-goals to break the record set by McCallum in the 2011 season.

Both came in the first half of the tilt.

"I feel good  -- I'm happy it's over with," Paredes said in a haltime interview with TSN.

A third field-goal hit by Paredes from 25 yards out late in the first half added to the record and gave the Stamps a 17-14 lead heading into halftime.

Bo Levi Mitchell got the call tonight at quarterback for the Stampeders.

The Texan made his first CFL start against another first-timer QB, Justin Goltz for the Bombers.
