Tollestrup signs with Stampeders
By IAN BUSBY, QMI Agency
CALGARY - In one year of football in Calgary, Dalin Tollestrup drew national attention by leading an emerging powerhouse. Then he was gone, off to Belize and El Salvador on a Mormon mission. More than six years later, he will be returning to his home province, this time as a member of the Calgary Stampeders after signing a free-agent deal Friday. In 2006, the Raymond high school product won the CIS rookie-of-the-year award with the University of Calgary Dinos, playing quarterback on a team that was soon going to become a national title contender. Once he returned from his mission, Tollestrup enrolled at Brigham Young University, spending four years with the football team but only playing in seven NCAA games as a receiver. He is due to graduate with an exercise science degree this spring, and then he will come to Stamps training camp to work out in the receiving corps. |
