CALGARY - The incident which left Joffrey Reynolds facing criminal charges was nothing more than a lover's spat, the former all-star running back testified Friday.

Reynolds, taking the witness stand in his own defence, said he never assaulted his ex-girlfriend in the manner she claimed.

And the Calgary Stampeders all-time leading rusher said he was living with the woman at the time, so he couldn't be guilty of breaking into her home.
